ANNUAL MEETING OF EAST CLUB,

The annual meeting of the East Cricket Club was held last evening. Mr. F. A. Midlane presided over a large attendance of members. The annual report showed that tho club was in a. sound financial position and had a small sum to its credit. The work of Mr. Hood, scorer, and of Mr. Midlane, captain, waa refer red to. These gentlemen hid done a great deal for the club, and the members regretted Mr. Midlane's departure foi Auckland., A note, appreciative of fclie work of the secretary, Mr. W. A. Baker, is to be placed on the minutes. In presenting a report of the season's matches, Mr. Hood stated that one game was worthy of note. That was the match against Old Boys,.* in which Enst had scored 445 runs for four wickets, three centuries being included i.n the score. Mr. J. P. Firth was re-elected president, Mr. H. Coilett club captain, and Mr. Baker secretary and treasurer.
