MR. MACDONALD.

Mi. J. W. Mac Donald, solicitor to the Public Trust Office, who ia to be the other Assistant Public Trustee, was bom at Christchurch in 1882, and was educated at Timaru. On leaving school he joined the staff of the Lyttelton Times, and shortly afterwards entered the Civil Service, being attached to the Justice Department. He waa-fov some time on the Magistrate's Court staff at Wellington. He transferred to the Public Trust Office in 1904. On the retirement in 1909 of Mr. F. K. Wileon, Mr. Mac Donald was appointed solicitor to the Public Trust Office, a position he has occupied up till the present. !Mr. Mac Donald is the representative of the Public Trust on the Public Service Superannuation Board, this being his second term. He is the author of a standard text-book on "The Workers' Compensation Act, 1908," and in addition is a well-known lecturer on legal matters in connection with the workings of the Public Trust Office.
