KARORI BOROUGH COUNCIL

The fortnightly meeting of the Karori Borough Council was held last evening, when there were" present:—Councillors A. Hamilton (in the chair), W. G. Bradnock, H. E. Dryden, J. W. Henderson, | W. Skegg, and R. L. Tingey. The Wellington War Funds Collection' Committee sent an appeal to the council i for a donation to the "Our Day" Fund. The letter was received. The Tramway Traffic Manager wi;ote in connection with the borough time-table. This matter was brought up at the last i meeting of the council, following _ upon the receiving of requests from residents in the borough to run the 5.32 p.m. car through to Karori instead of only to the Cemetery. The matter, the Traffic Manager stated, was being considered. In reference to a complaint that somebody connected with the Salvation Army had damaged shrubs in the borough, a letter had been sent to the Army, pointing this out. The Commissioner, in reply, regretted a complaint of this nature, and said he would do all he could in the matter. The Makara Cognty Council wrote stating that the prdrective fence on Makara Hill needed repairing. The matter will be attended to. The council "received" a circular from the Green Island Borough Council in reference to a war bonus to public servants. Accounts to a total of £81 15s were passed for payment.
