ISLAND BAY SURF CLUB
Th» annual meeting of the Island Bay Life-saving and Surf Club was held last night, Mr. 'W. H. Coy in the chair. The annual report, which was adopted without discussion,, stated that the erection of shelter-sheds for club members' children at each end of the club sheds was brought about by the persistent efforts of the committee. The club is in a flourishing state as far as membership and finances are concerned. The men members of the club at the front total 219. Officers for the ensuing year were elected as under:—President, Mr. W. H. Coy; vicepresidents, Messrs. M. Beck, A. Laurenson, M. P. Redican, Menzies, H. E. Bird, H. S. Hansen, R. A. Wright M.P., D. F. Hill, J. 0. Shorland, A. E. Odlin, C. Lockwood, F. Ballinger, A. H. Hindmarsh, M.P., Willoughby, J. P. Luke, H. F. Bilberd, F. M'Farlane, and L. Brabin; club captain, Mr. j. Rowe; vice-captain, Mr. F. Heal; lady superintendent, Mrs. Heal; senior instructor, Mr. G. E. Bird; assistant instructor, Mrs. Fanning; secretary, Mr. D. W. Waymouth; treasurer, Mr. T. T. Gill; committee, Mesdames W. Wilkinson, Rowe, Messrs. E. Evans, C. Mayall, C. Odlin; auditors, Messrs. A. E. Herron and J Redican: handicappers, Messrs. H. E. Bird, T. P. Gill, Judd, and W. H. Coy; starter, Mr. Brunton.
