RETURNED SOLDIERS

The Wellington section of the contingent of returned sokfiers -which reached Auckland on Saturday arrived in Wellington to-day. They were met by the Mayor (Mr. J. P. I/uke, C.M.G.), who extended an informal welcome. The Mayoress and members of her committee distributed fruit and cigarettes to the men. Adequate arrangements had been made by the Mayor, Captain Pryor (Motor Reserve Corps), and Mr. Stott (Automobile Association), for transporting the men to their homes. Owners of motor-cars responded' well to the appeal for assistance, and the work of moving the men was carried out smoothly and expeditiously. -
