PETONE FIRE BOARD

In reply to a question by Councillor Churchouse, the Mayor of Petone, la6t evening, stated that the Government had taken no further action in regard to its appointment to the Petone Fire Board. It will be remembered that the Government appointed an alleged, enemy subject, who had been naturalised, to a seat on the board. Several members objected to sit with the gentleman, and., as no qorum has been available no meeting of the board has been held for some time, A councillor suggested that the Government should proceed against members for causing a strike.
