Two accidents connected with- motor'buses happened in the Hint Valley yesterday. Messrs. M'Kwcn and Carter's 'bus, while passing through'the gorge on the way to Trentham, met another vehicle, causing it to be moved close to the outer edge of the road, whicli gave way and the wheels sank somo. distance, but not sufficient to over-balance the vehicle, which was extricated without much difficulty. One of the passengers fainted. ' About 2.30 p.m., Messrs. F. T. Moore's 'bus while proceeding round the Railway' Hotel comer, Lower HuH, ran into a motor-cycle and side-car driven by Mr. Muir, of Rolleston-street, Wellington. The motor-cycle,was, considerably damaged, and Vr. Muir had one of his* legs severely bruised. He was removed to. the Railway Hotel, and afterwards taken home in the mo f.or-'bus.
Fifty members of the staff of the Wairarapa Farmers' Co-operative Association have joined the New Zealand Forces since the outbreak of war, and of that number ten have beeii killed in action.
