Owing to the strike and the difficulties of railway transport, the Rosehill Meeting, which took place "on Saturday, was held at Bandwick. In the Chelmsford Stakes, run on the same tra-ck a week previously,' the three-year-olds Biplane, Prince Viridis, and Baltic Sea carried 8.2 ' each. •It _ will be remembered that the running 'of the New Zealand representative was challenged, but the explanation' given was accepted as satisfactory. In the Eosehill Guineas, on- Saturday, the distance was again nine furlongs, and the weights were practically . the same. Biplane turned the. tables on Prince Viridis, and beat him by a comfortable margin. Last sea : son Wolaroi won the Rosehill Guineas," but failed to get placed in the A.J;-C.' Derby. He made amends by winning the "victoria Derby. After his win on Saturday Biplanfe will probably be favourite for the Derby, to be run on Saturday week. The third place-getter, Baltic Sea (Linacrer-Criss Cross], won. the Breeders' Plate last epring. He/has recently been galloping ,well in company with Cagou, a good track worker, and has been supported to win the Derby and Metropolitan. In the mile and a-half handicap Prince Viridis has 7.7, arid Baltic Sea 7.2.
