SIR DOUGLAS HAIG'S REPORT

ENERGETIC AERIAL OPERATIONS

ENEMY REMAINS OVER HIS OWN LINES

(AUSTRALIAN-NEW ZEALAND CABLE ASSOCIATION AND RETJTEB.)

LONDON, 6th September. Sir Douglas Haig reports : ,We drove back the enemy's raiders eastward of Klein-Zillebeke. The artillery bombardment continues along the Ypres front. The enemy's aeroplanes bombed various places on our front, including a hospital area, causing a few casualties. We brought down one of the raiders. Our aeroplanes and balloons co-operated with the artillery yesterday, and, despite vigorous attacks, secured a record number of photographa, many, of which were taken at great distances behind the enemy's lines. The enemy's aeroplanes are disinclined to fight except well east of their own line. We brought down thirteen of their machines. Seven of ours are missing. BRITISH HOSPITALS BOMBED (Received September 7, 9.20 a.m.) LONDON, 6th September. Sir Douglas Haig reports : There have been patrol encounters east of Fleureaix and south-eastward of St. Julien. The enemy aircraft bombed three hospitals on Tuesday night.
