AUGUST WEATHER
Some -interesting details concerning the past month's weather were supplied to a tost i reporter to-day by Mr. D. C. Bates, the 1 Dominion Meteorologist. "The rainfall during' August," said Mr. Bates, "was below the average. Bain fell on 15 days, and the total for the month is 3.94 inches. The temperature was rather higher than, usual, the highest recorded being 60.3 degrees and the lowest , 33.6 degrees. Terrestrial radiation indicated ten frosts 'during August, the lowest temperature on the grass being 7 degrees,' on the 16th. The total sunshine was 140 hours 4 minutes, which was 3.hours 54 minutes below the average for previous years. . The average velocity of the wind was 239 .miles, a day^cionsiderably above' the average. The mean I barometric '. pressure./' was--29.976, which was slightly above the usflal." ■'-■'■'
