BOWLING

NEW ZEALAND ASSOCIATION,

The fourth annual report of the De* minion of New Zealand. Bowling Association states that the membership, of the association consists of 17 centresNorth Island 8, South Mand_ 9. The clubs affiliated to the association number 215, being an increase- of two on last year. A number of centres have failed to send in returns of the membership of clubs, consequently it is impossible to give the actual number of members. The figures available for the year show 10,423 members, as againsfc 10,437 last year. These, however, are not complete. The credit balance has decreased during the year. The funds- should really be greater than shown in the balancesheet, as levies from a good many clubs are dtill owing. In accordance with clause 1 of the Constitution and Rules, the headquarters of the association for the ensuing year will bo at Dunedin.

The association tournament was held in Wellington in. January, and record entries for each event were received, viz., 136 rinks, 208 pairs, 210 singles. An electric light tournament wsis held on two evenings during the week, for •which 32 rinks entered. The profit from the tournament amounted to £550, which sum was distributed as follows :—War Belief Association £200, V.M.C.A. £150, tletumed Soldiers' Club £80, St, Jolm Ambulance £50,
