MILLERS' AWKWARD POSITION

CHRISTCHURCH, 4th September. The interruption of shipping between the Dominion and Australia through the Australian strike has put a, number of millers in the awkward position of having to close down or run on single shifts, owing to the scarcity of wheat. One of the large mills in Christclvurch has closed down and another is curtailing its output of flour. Only small odd lots of wheat are to be obtained, but it is known that a large line, including two seasons' wheat, is still held by one

grower.
