TECHNICAL EDUCATION

MEETING OF THE BOARD.

A meeting of th« Wellington Technical' Education Board was held last night. Mr. G. Frost presided, and others present were: The Mayor (Mr. J. P. Luke, C.M.G.), the Hon. J. G. W. Aitkeri, M.L.C., Messrs. W. Allan, T. BaUingw, W. H. Bennett, F. R. Partridge, T, Forsyih, H. M. Gore, G. L. Stewart, J. F. Atkins, and Mr. W. S. La Trobe (director.). ' ' Accounts amounting to £955 16s 4d were passed for payment—salaries £694 Is 7d and general accounts £261 14s 9d. The financial statement showed receipts to amount to £1618 12s sd, and for the corresponding period of 1916 £388 Is 6d. The 1917 total included an item of £1375, capitation. Expenditure'during- the rsamo period- of 1917 was : £955. 10s 4d and for 1916 £816 12s 7d, The debit balances for the periods were: 1917, £1360 19s 4d; 1916, £607 14s Id. The report of the conference of Technical School Boards and the Wellington Education Board, when certain resolutions (already published' in The Post) were carried, was received and! adopted.
