A meeting of Taifca residents was held last evening in connection with the Lower Hutt "Our Day" Red Cross aru peal. The gathering, though not largely attended, enthusiastically decided to cooperate with the Lower Hutt commit, tee, and a further meeting is to be hek at an early date.

The bulk of the fines imposed by a mock court at Blenheim on War Declaration Day have been paid. The. amount received so far is £653 4s 6d.
