CORPORATION STAFF SALARIES
Salaries of members of the City Council staff have been .reviewed,, and increases made amounting in aggregate to £2354. The reason for this revision, ac explained by the Mayor, is that the usual additions to salaries have not in many cases been made during tho war period, but as many officers, owing to, war conditions and depletion of. staffs, are now tilling more responsible positions and undertaking heavier work, some additional remuneration for their services was called for.
