MILK & CREAM FREIGHTS
RAILWAY DEPARTMENT'S PRE-
CAUTIONS.
"Every endeavour is made to ensure the delivery of milk and cream cans at their proper destination," is a statement made by the Hon. W. H. Herries (Ministor of Railways) as the sequence to a question asked by Mr. W. H. Field. "Any complaints that, are made to the Department are promptly investigated and steps taken to rectify matters. The Department carries many tens of thousands of ompty milk cans in the course of the year, and the nuinbor of instances in which complaints are made is infinitesimal. In a largo proportion of the cases the cans have neither brand nor other distinguishing mark by whioh the Department can identify them or their destination. It would greatly facilitate matters if those who have complaints to ma.ko would make them promptly to the Railway Department at the time of tho occurrence, so that any action that might be necessary could be taken."
