NURSES UNFIT FOR DUTY

A question in the House has elicited a. reply from the Hon. Sir James Allen that nurses in tho Army Nursing- Service who have broken down in health are kept on sick leave until fit for duty or until recommended by a Medical Board for discharge. Until that time they are in receipt of full pay and 2s a- day allowance. The provision for granting pensions 19 embodied in section 22 of tho War Pensions Act, 1915, and the rates of pension payable appear in the regulation under the said Act, gazetted on the 29th of November, 1915. These pensions may be claimed immediately after discharge.
