DOMINION BOY SCOUTS
(Notes by Tracker.)
Last Tveek the Salvation Army Life Saving Scouts gave a demonstration of their work, which was exceedingly creditable to boys and instructors. As the .Army (Commissioner, who was in the chair, explained in his opening remarks, the work that, evening was not put forward as display work, but simply showed the Scouts undergoing their training. Nevertheless, the standard was a high one, and the work .worthy of a much older troop. After saluting the flag, the work began. Perhaps the neatest item was the putting together and then dismantling of a trek cart. It was a most: handy and compact vehicle, and it is interesting to note that it has been, constructed by the Scouts. A single lock bridge, built in engineer's style, was completed in a very few minutes, and duly tested by the scout-leader and an officer. Another bridge of ropes was swung across the citadel, from balcony to balcony, and the requisite thrill was added to the entertainment when two Scouts carried a girl in a stretcher across this seemingly insecure footway. Examples of ambulance, cooking, physical drill, and the presentation of an honours board and several commissions completed the programme. •
