GENERAL GODLEY
The Hon. Sir J. Allen (Minister of Defence), replying to a.question by Mr. C. J. Parr in the House of Representatives this afternoon, said : —There is no definite term of contract between . the New Zealand Government and General Godley. When General Godley was promoted by the Imperial authorities to the command of an army corps, he volunteered to continue to direct the administration of the New Zealand Expeditionary Forces in general. This offer was gladly accepted by the New Zealand Government, with the approval of' the .Army Council. General Godley co-ordinates the work of General Bussell commanding the New Zealand Expeditionary Forco in France, General Chayfcor commanding the New Zealand Expeditionary Force in Egypt, and General Richardson in the United Kingdom. Such co-ordination of the New Zealand Expeditionary Forces is absolutely essential.
