MUNICIPAL ABATTOIR

The report of tlhe Municipal Abattoir for the month of July shows that the following stock were slaughtered (a comparison with 1916 being given in parentheses) Cows 159 (decrease 190). bullocks 441 (dec. 59), bulls 5 (dec. 1), sheep 4245 (dec. 949), lambs 152 (dec. 58), calves 59 (increase 21), pigs 29 (dec.'lo). The numbers condemned were : Cows 21, bullocks 10, sheep 23, pig 1. The fees received were : Stock slaughtered at abattoir, £129 14s lljd ; fees from meat export companies, £137 16s 7d; sale of offal and runners, £167 19s 7d; cleaning tripe, £37 4s 6d; total, £472 15s 7i-d, being £5 3s 2d decrease on last month and £4 2s ll^d decrease on July. 1916.
