The raising of £12,000,000, 'the first' portion of. the £24,000,000 loan','in'three weeks for war • purposes is a task that would have been looked upon as impossible before .the..present .conflict..._" A suggestion was thrown out that owing to the magnitude of the task it would be necessary to adjourn the House of Representatives for a r week or a fortnight in order to enable Ministers and members, '. to tour their districts in order to" impress upon" their ' constituents' the' urgent necessity for supporting the loan if the necessary aid for New Zealand's soldiers was to be forthcoming.' It is understood, however, that Cabinet to-day decided that just at present an adjournment will not be necessary, at any rate as far as the first part of the loan is concerned.
