PARAMOUNT THEATRE.
"The Valentine Girl," featuring Marguerite Clark, bids fair to be a sensational success at the Paramount Theatre, where large crowds witnessed its first screenings on Saturday. The picture has had a wonderfully successful run wherever it has been shown. Marion Morgan, the daughter of a professional gambler, is portrayed by Marguerite Clark. It ha® been the dream of Marion's short life to meet her father, whom • she had never seen. v When she meets him he proves to be a professional gambler and a leader of a band of crooks. His. great wealth enables him to provide everything for her, but still he cannot make her happy, because he cannot explain why the other little girls refuse to play with her. The hungry appeal of the child for love and sympathy, and her pathetic endeavours to find the bright side of life in the big shadow of calamity, make the character one of the most delightful and wistfullyappealing that Marguerite Clark has gjven the photoplay public. , , ■
