A stirring story of life in the underworld, entitled "The^ Battle of Life," in which. Gladys Coburn, the very latest picture star, plays a leading role, was produced at MacMahon'.s Theatre today. It is the story of a woman who is subject to all manner of temptations at the hands of a band of crooks. Her parents were thieves, her associates were' thieves, and there is every inducement for her to join the- criminal ranks. But for the sake of her lover she fighte against these tendencies and associa.tions, and wins cleanly through to happiness and a home of her own in brighter surroundings.
