LONDON", 23rd August. John P. Fletcher, a pacifist, formerly in Australia and New Zealand, has been sentenced to two years' imprisonment with hard labour for refusing to handle a, rifle at Whitley Bay.

[Fletcher in May last was fined 6100 by a London Court for issuing a leaflet entitled "Repeal the Act," which was cdnsidered likely to prejudice recruiting and discipline in His Majesty's forces.]
