PRICE OF BUTTER
DEPUTATION TO PRIME MINISTER.
A numerous deputation of _ dairy farmers waited on the Prime Minister (lit. Hon. W. F. Massey) this morning, and asked tiiat butter-makers should bo paid from the Consolidated Fund the difference between the price at which they were oompelle~d by regulation to sell butter in New Zealand and the price ruling at that time in London. The Primo Minister refused to entertain the suggestion, saying that lie did not think that Cabinet or Parliament would agree to any such proposal.
