The verdict in the enquiry into th« City of Athens disaster stated that the vessel was sunk by a sub-merged mine in consequence ■of having been navigated within a proscribed r area contrary to Admiralty instructions. The master's certificate.Was suspended, for six months.
[The City of Athens was sunk recently off Capetown. Fifteen passengers and five of the crew were drotrned.]
