Mr. James W. Gerard, late American Ambassador to Germany, receives the Grand Cross of the Bath in recognition of his services to British prisoners in Germany. It is understood that he is the only man'in America holding this honour. Mr. Gerard prevented a hitch on the *Anglo-German exchange of; prisoners.
