TVJ'OTICE is hereby given that the Coun--11 cil of the Borough of J_arori proposes, at a Special Meeting, to be neld on TUIiSDAy, the 4th day of September, IUI7, to make and levy, under the provisions of '" The Rating Act, 1908," and all the powers enabling it in that behalf, the following- Rates for the period commencing tho Ist day of April, J. 917, and ending on the 31st day of March, 1918, namely :— (1) A General Rate under the provision of Section 78 of " The Municipal Corporations Act, 1908," for general purposes, of Twopence Halfpenny (2_UJ in the _ on the unimproved value of all rateable property within the Borough. (2) A Rate under the provision of Section 41 of " The Hospital and Charitable Institutions Act, 1909," of One-nfth (l-sth) of a penny in the £ on the capital value of all rateable property within the Borough, such rate being required to meet the contributions payable by the Council to the Wellington Hospital and Charitable Aid Board. Also, that the above Rates will be payable in one instalment on tha 4th day of September, 1917, at the Office of the Borough Council, Karori. And notice 13 hereby given that the Council of the Borough of Karori intends to levy the several annually-recurring Special Rates, the sums following, namely: Special Rate No. 1, Two-twenty-fifths (2-25ths) of a penny in the £; Special Rate No. 2, One-twenty-fifth (l-25th) of a penny in the £; Special Rate No. 3, One-twenty-fifth (l-25th) of a penny in the £; Special Rate No. 4, Sixty-seven-hundredths (67-100ths) of a penny in the £; Special Rate No. 5, Nineteen-hundredths (19-100ths) of a penny in the £; Special Tlate No. 6, One-ninth (l-9th) of a penny in the £; Special Rate No. 7, One Penny and Seventeen-hundredths (1 17-lOOths) of a penny in the £.
