Silver has reached the highest price since 18D1. The position is brought about by demands of the Continent coining on a practically bare market. FOOD STUFFS PRICES. OFFICIAL MAXIMA FIXED. LONDON, 16th AHgnst. Tho Food Controller has fixed the jnaximnm prices for British wheat as follows:—Delivery before December, 73s 6d per 5041b; DecemberJanuary, 74s 6d; Fcbruary-Mnrch, 75s 6d; AprilMay, 76s 9d; June and after, 77a 6d. Oats, per 3301b: Before December, 44s 3d; December-January, 45s 3d; February-March, 46s 3d; April-May, 47s 3d; June and after, 483 Cd. Barley, per 4471b: 62s 9d at any time. The use of barley is not permitted except for seeds or flour, unless damaged. SEEDS FOR NEW ZEALAND. LONDON, 15th Aagusfc.
