A conference of delegates from 24 butter factories to-day decided to hold 3, < conference in Wellington on 22nd August, and afterwards to,interview the Prime Minister on ; the question of the purchase of the butter output by the New Zealand or the Imperial Government. A committee appointed was authorised to offer to sellthe butter output at a price on a parity with cheese,

allowing threepence per pound, on butterfat as the difference between skim milk and whey, but wae given a free hand to make the best arrangements in the interests of the producers. ■ '
