SELLING TOBACCO AFTER HOURS
In the Magistrate's Court this afternoon, Rowland Thomas Bailey, Inspector, of Shops, proceeded against Neil Blair Austin on a charge of selling tobacco on a recent date after 2 p.m. Mr. Bailey stated that Austin was an old offender, and he pressed for a heavy penalty. Mr. S. E. M'Carthy, S.M., imposed the maximum fine of £10, with costs, the alternative being one month's imprisonment. In similar offences, Sing On Tie and Kwong Tiy Chong were fined £5 and £2 respectively.
