FITZGERALD RELIEF FUND
The Fitzgerald Fund has been closed and audited by Messrs. Gold and Arcus, accountants, of Johnston-street, and the lists, bank slips, certificate, and balancesheet may be seen by any interested person at the office of R. and E. Tingey and Co., Ltd., Manners-street. The treasurer of the fund wishes to express his hearty thanks ou behalf of Mrs. Fitzgerald and family to the citizens of Wellington for their generous response to tho appeal on their behalf. The balance-sheet shows a total collection (as per advertisement in this issue) of £883 19s 2d, and there are no expenses attached to the collection, which has been be-rne by subscribers. Special thanks are extended to the Oriental Bay and Roseneaih Municipal Association, tho Licensed Victuallers' Association, Commercial Travellers' Club, the committee and management of. benefit eonsert, Town Hall, tho Wellington Patriotic 13<in(l, Salvation Army Bands (City anil Wellington South), Federal Club, the Mayor (Mr. J. P. Luke, C.M.G.). Mrs. W. E. Jackson, and Mr. Iza.nl (Issard and Weston), and to the newspapers.-
A contract has been let by the architects, Messrs. Swan and Swan, Wood-ward-street, for £95 to rebuild in reinforced concrete the wall which 'caused the unfortunate fatality. The contract is well in hand. It is proposed to buy with the balance an annuity to work out in ton years. This will be finally decide 1 on in the n"rir future by the tnistoef, Mftwvfi. J. P.
