Within the past few : weeks bushfelling in a small way has been in progress at the Botanical Gardens, some of. .the firs.and pines being removed to clear, the ground and permit the growth of native shrubs and the improvement of the.Gardens entrance. I;t, is expected that, as a result of this work, the entrance will in the future present a more attractive and Jess drab appearance. The result .of. the bush-felling has been the accumulation" of.quite a heap,of resinous wood, which has.beep dumped at the end of Anderson's Park. , As ,it is of no use. to the council.instructions have been given to the, Pveserves Superintendent that residents..who, wish .to may carry the waste timbers away, as many of them will probably be glad .to in .these days of high fuel prices and cold nights. .. ... ,,: ... , ..,
