A BANKRUPT FIRM
A meeting of creditors in the. bankrupt estate of Angus dyne Sutherland French «ad William Henry Hampton, trading as; French and Hampton-, builders and ; contractors,! was held.at the Official Assignee!s office to-day. Mr. C W-jT'inaicr represented the bankrupt firm. Ercnch and ..Hampton wore- ■■ adjudged' bankrupt on their ovrn petition. In theiij statement bankrupts set out that they filed a, petition in bankruptcy owing- to i^ressure by creditors, ajid that for some time, owing to the difficulties of labour and cost of material, business had been carried on at a loss. Only. £3 par week had been drawn by each of the partners as wages for the last three years.. The amount owing to unsecured -creditors'was set down at £1020 2s Id ;' secured 'creditors totalled £65 ss. The assets wore estimated to produce £307. \ : .-;■" Some discussion took place regarding a concrete mixer, and a claim madie by Mrs. French on its account. The creditors decided it should be handed over to her ,' in' full "settlement of _ her daim for money advajioed. Regarding a property held by Mr, Firench, a small committee of supervisors to act with the Assignee was appointed.: .'This committee was given power to wind up the< whole estate.
