"THE BIRTH OF A NATION."

The much-heralded special presentation of "The Birth of a Nation" commences to-day. Charles Breil's great score has been thoroughly studied by a large orchestra under Mr. Wynne-Jones, and splendid vocal work will also accompany the playing of the drama. Effects on a- scale new to Wellington audiences will be employed. The film itself is quite worthy of its title of the "peer of 'Intolerance,' " and the double love story is a fascinating romance. Mac Marsh, and Miriam Cooper are the two lovely heroines, and the cast of men is said to be one of the .itrongest ever, got together. The war pictures marked a new era in magnificent studio work. The season opens to-day at the matinee, and thereafter there will be two performances daily at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.
