NEW ZEALAND'S QUOTA
TO THB EDITOR.
Sir,—May I take this opportunity of thanking you for your correction and. explanation of the statements in my oorrespondence) which appeared in Monday evening's issue, under the heading,, "New Zealand's Quota"? It was stated that 74,000 men had left New Zealand, but of , this number the voluntary system claimed 69,500 men. On the population basis Australia, to equal that, wouM have had to send'- 295,375, whereas she had actually despatched 302,570. '■ Comparatively, then, New Zealand leads the Dominions of tihe Empire in her actual quota of men, but Australia holds that proud position under the voluntary system. I repeat, therefore, that this argument should precede all othera—l am, etc, '■'■'■'
