NO COUNTER-REVOLUTION
BRUSILOFF SAYS HE WILL NOT ALLOW IT
PEOPLE MUST SAVE THE COUNTRY
| PETROGRAD, 13th July, At a" conference attended by the Workmen's and Soldiers' Council, General Brusiloff, and other generals, M. Kerenski (Minister of War) declared that the army was entitled to demand more assistance from the organisations at the rear. A member of the council, addressing General Brusiloff, said : "Your presence has brought us solidarity, but 88 per cent, of the officers at Headquarters obstruct our work and create huge counter-revolutionary manifestations." General "Brusiloff, in reply, said : "I have taken an oath to serve the democracy, and there cannot be a counter-revolution. I will not allow it. All responsible positions are now filled by officers who have accepted j the views of the revolution. Everyone must concentrate to save the country.".
