— » OSMOND SHIELD.", Miniature rifle-shooting enthusiasts issembled in force last evening at the Harbour Board's range to compete for he National Reserve Osmond Challenge Shield. This trophy has been^won thrice n succession by the Brooklyn unit, and m. this occasion four teams entered for it >n practically equal conditions, the natches having previously been fired off it the units' own ranges. Keen intorest vas taken in the progress of the shoot, md it proved a close and exciting one, mly four points near the close separatng the four teams.: Success, however, igain fell to the present holders, Brookyn winning by three points from Pctone, bur from Wellington South, and nine rom Lower Hutt. The shooting on the ivhole was excellent, considering that nost of the: competitors fired at the ■ange for the first time. Webb (Brookyn) topped the individual scores made vith the possible (70).
