Tingey as trustees for the moneys collected. The various clubs and societies that are so actively taking a part in the movement are advised that they may - pay any money they have collected into the fund through the .Mayor.' . The commercial travellers have subscribed. £50 to the fund, and'the licensed victuallers' generosity has added £88 Bs, 6d to the cause. •. -•' As tickets for the benefit performance are at present being sold in the streets 6i the city, there will be no sale of art union tickets for J)he Crippled Soldiers' Art Union either to-day or to-morrow. Up to last evening, Mr. Tingey, jun., of Messrs. Tingey and Co., the treasurer of the relief fund, had received donations amounting to £200j and this morning's canvass resulted in a further subscrip-y tion of about £20! The cause is being espoused by all classes of the communityj and the promoters have reason to be gratified with the spontaneous generosity shown by all appealed to. In connection with' the approaching benefit entertainment, an exceptional demanct for tickets is reported, and those in charge of ar-.. rangements believe the function will be an immense success.
