Several inebriates faced the Bench at to-day's.sitting of the Magistrate's Court, four- first offenders being leniently dealt with, and one remanded'for medical treatment. 1 Louise Tiemoy was fiiiod.-Oa, with tho usual alternative, and Mipiue Nel?on was mulct in a penalty of. 20s, .vitH the option of remaining-■ in • gaol for seven days. ' ' : In respect of a charge against Thomas' Mcc of being an idle'and disorderly person with insufficient lawful means of support, Inspector Marsack stated that the defendant would shortly m go into camp. In view of this, the Magistrate ordered tho defendant to come up for sentence \yh<nl called upon. '" On a charge of committing a broach of his prohibition order, William Alfred Phillips was fined 10s,'. with costs. . ■ ' :
Ovring to extenuating circumstances, John Barker, who waa charged with driving »' motor-eir without a-registered mark or number, -was merely ordered to pay costs. . ' • ■ -'■■
Howard Nattraas, who loft his motorcar unattended in Lambton-quay, was fined 10s,", with costs, while for having insufficient lights on theit.vehicles Fred Beard, Louis Brbugh, and James Wilson were eaoh penalised. in the sum of 10s, with costs. On a similar charge, Arthur Horndr was ordered to pay costs. For allowing stock to wander, the, following , were ' dealt with as under: —U. Shannon, fined 10a, with costs; James M. Bradshaw 2s 6d, with costs; Charles W. Baylis ss, With costs; Norman EHice, Ernest Hrtley, A. Harris, W. Randell, and WJ Stace,: each ordered to pay costs. : R,ichard William Martin, who failed to notify an-accident to, tho Inspectorl of Scaffolding, was ordered to pay 14s costs. For a breach of the traffic bylaws William Henry Salter was fined 20s, with costs totalling £1 15s. As. a sequel to a disturbance in Cam-bridge-terrace recently, William Gooch, George Isaacs, and Thomas Riellv were jointly charged with using threatening, behaviour whoreby a breach of the peace was occasioned.'
