Patriotic work has not been forgotten in the Rangitikei, but the amount of money so far raised by the Rangitikei Patriotic Society has not been very great. The sum of £15,000 was collected as the result of a Queen Carnival, and this was divided equally between the Rangitikei, Hunterville, and Lower Rangitikei Societies. The policy of so dividing the capital sum was not generally agreed with, and resulted in the resignation of the chairman (Mr. Wilson). Mr.' Lethbridge (chairman of. the County Council) was appointed in his place;.
