GLOOMY PROSPECTS FOR WEEK-END

At the present moment the prospects for a good week-end are, to say the least, not at all as promising as they might be. To-day'a weather has been mild, but cloudy and overcast, and, according to the official forecast, is likely to become more so, with a good probability of rain before long. Northerly winds, increasing strong to gale, will accompany a fall in the barometer, and warning signals for gales are exhibited at Cape Maria, Tiritiri, East Cape, Castlepoint, Cape Campbell, Stephen Island. Farewell Spit, Cape Foulwind, and Nugget Point.
