CLAIM FOR DAMAGES
Hearing was continued at the Supreme Court to-day, before his Honour the Chief Justice (Sir Robert Stout) and a common jury of twelve, in the case in which Geo. Camwell sued the Blackball Coal Company, Ltd., for £501 for injuries received while in defendant company's employ. Mr. P. J. O'Regan appeared for plaintiff, and Mr. E. K. Kirkcaldie for Blackball Coal Company.
Tho claim arose out of an . accident to plaintiff, on 6th October last year, while assisting in the discharge of coal. For the defence, it was contended that plaintiff's injuries were not very eerious, and that the accident was.unavoidable.
His Honour, in summing ' up, said there . was no doubt that plaintiff was competent, and- the question for the jury to decide was whether there had been negligence.
