RUSSIAN ARMY'S DEMAND
IMMEDIATE END TO CARNAGE
BAD CONDITIONS AT THE FRONT
UOSTBALIAN-NEW ZEALAND CABLE ASSOCIATION.) PETROGRAD, 30th May. A conference of delegates from the fighting front resolved : "That the army demands that everything be done to end the international carnage immediately on a basis of peace without annexations or indemnity."
Other resolutions passed point out that Russians have been fighting under conditions infinitely worse than those of the Allies have had to contend with. They have had to inarch almost unprotected against the enemy's bullets and break down entanglements with their bare hands. The Russians, it is declared, must be provided with munitions.
The army appeals to the people to rally round the Provisional Government and not permit th« army to become manure for foreign fields.
