Subject to necessary alterations mails will close at the Chief Post Office as under:— Tor Wanganui, Manawatu, Taranaki, Hawkes Bay, and Poverty Bay, per train (Thorndon), daily, 7.30 a.m.; mail van, 8.20 a.m. For Wanganui nnd Manawatu, per train (Thorndon), daily, 3.15 p.m. For Wairarapa, per train (Lambton), daily, C.30 a.m. and 2 p.m. Tor Hawkes Bay, per train (Thorndon), 8.20 a.m. and 5.15 p.m. For Auckland; also Taranaki, Wanganui, and Napier, per Main Trunk (Thorndon), daily, 11.50 a.m.; Chief Post Office, 12.5 p.m.; late-fee, Thorndon Station, 12.55 p.m. FRIDAY, Ist JUNE For Weßt Coast, per Kamona, 5 p.m. For Marlborough, per Wairau, 5 p.m. For South Island, per Maori, 6.15 p.m. , SATURDAY, 2nd JUNE For Nelson and Marlborough, per Nikau, 1.20 p.m. For South Island, per Mararoa, 6.15 p.m. MONDAY, 4th JUNE For Marlboroueh and Neleon, per Maponriia, 11.20 a.m. For Nelson and West-Coast, per Kaitoa, 4.20 For South Island, per Maori, 6.15 p.m. On King's Birthday, 4th June, the Chief Post Office will be open in all its branches (except Money Order and Savings Bank) from 9 to 10 a.m. Mails for despatch by steamers will close, at 8 a.m., and the only despatches of correspondence by trains will close as follows :— For the Wairarapa, Hawkes Bay, Manawatu, Kaneitikei, Wanganui, and Taranaki districts, at 5.« a.m.; for Auckland and Auckland district at 8 a.m. There will be no delivery of correspondence by letter-carriers in the city and suburbs. The city ami suburban receivers will not be cleared during the day, but night clearances will be made as usual. On Saturday, 2nd June, the letter-carriers' Department (upstairs from Feathcrston-street) will be open from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. for the delivery • of correspondence addressed to streets in the city nnd auhurbs, the public delivery counter will be open from 8 to 0 p.m. for the delivery of correspondence addressed to the Post Office, and the parcels delivery counter will also bo open from 8 to 9 p.m. Mails for United Kingdom, America, and all Overseas Countries, Including Australia, will be despatched from time to time by best route ■without special notification. , Correspondence for all noutrul country Is subject'to cenDorehtp, ' p.
