COST OF WAR
NEW ZEALAND'S SHARE,
The war expenditure of the Dominion, up .till 31st March last, was £22,075,238. This total included an amount of £4,500,000 paid to the Imperial Government for the maintenance of ithe : New Zealand troops in the field, the.supply of ammunition, and the provision of extra transport. This is the first statement of the expenditure of New Zealand in which this item has been included, but it has .on many occasions been mentioned by the Defence Minister as a debt which' -\ve owed to the Mother Country. ■'■".•.' .
