N.C.O.'S GET COMMISSIONS.
The following .n.c.o.'s at Trentham Camp have been appointed 2nd lieutenants on probation and posted to the 31st Infantry Reinforcements :—26/1643 Sergt. H. J. "Raines, 10/593 Sergt. L. R. Nicholas, 12/1205 Q.M.S. J. Finlayson. 4/22 a S.M. D. Ross has also been appointed 2nd lieutenant on probation and posted to the Engineer Reinforcements.
A member of F Company, 24th Reinforcements,.has been found guilty by district' court martial of (1) deserting His Majesty's service, (2) losing by neglect his equipment, clothing, and regimental necessaries, and (3) when in confinement escaping, and been sentenced to 40 days' detention and stoppage of pay for deficiences amounting to £5 5s 9d. The following officers have reported at Trentham Camp for duty : Capt. H. C. Meikle, 30th Reinforcements; Lieut. F. W. Walters, N.Z.D.C.; Chaplain W. Grigg, 4th class, attached to 27th Reinforcements.
Temporary appointments of n.c.o.'s at Trentharrf Camp have been approved by the Camp Commandant (Colonel H. R. Potter) as follows : —
G Company, 28th Reinforcements: To be corporals, L.-Cpls. A. A. Scott, E. W. Wood, N. G.Saunders.
