MEETING OF RUGBY UNION
Mr. D. Weir presided over a^ meeting' of the Wellington Rugby Union last evening. The Hutt Football Club wrote alleging that one their fifth-class players had played for Petone last Saturday, although it was known by that team that he had formerly played for Hutt. A letter would be written to Petone asking for an explanation. The captain of the Berhampore Club and a player will be asked to attend the next meeting to explain why the player in question played for Oriental Club. Marist' Bros.' School was granted permission •to play on Athletic Park on .Tuesdays and Wednesdays. ;
The following players will represent Wellington in a match against a Trentham representative team pn 4th June, at Athletic Park:—Morton '(University), full-back; Thomas (Petone), Ferguson (Oriental), Coles (Petone), three-quar-ters ; Porter (Old Boys), Jackson (University), five-eighths; Green (Athletic); half; Hislop (Old Boys), wing forward; Haigh (Wellington), Scott (Old Boys), Russell (University), Black (Poneke), Bond (Petone), Slater (Poneke), Poulter (Oriental),. forwards. Emergencies: Bucknell (Athletic), Dickenson (Petone), forwards; Brooker (Old Boys), M'Cabe (Athletic), backs).
In future all matches will commence at 2.45 p.m. instead of at 3 p.m. as previously.
