QUEEN'S THEATRE, CUBA-STREET.
Marguerite Clark made her appearance as "Mies George Washington" at the Queen's Theatre to-day to crowded houses. "Miss George Washington" is a play so true to human nature that it cannot fail to hold the interest of any playgoer It is a spring of humour, and its sympathy ia as simple and tender ac its fun is outright and wholesome. Misa Marguerite Clark has been seen in many delightful characters, but as "Miss George Washington" ehe is at her very best. The plot turns on a fib told by Miss Alice Altwold to her parents in order to escape from a compromising situation with her school chum and a strange young man. She introduces the young couple as husband and wife. This starts some of the moet serious complications that can be imagined. It is a play to see. The supporting programme includes an Ella Wheeler Wilcox poem drama, "Angel or Demon."
