. The subscription -list for the New South Wales £3,000,000 5£ per cent, loan at 98 will, close on 14th May. The prospectus emphasises the point that stock debentures: domiciled in London will not be subject to. income tax or death duties in New South Wales. Pay-: ment, in full,'will be permitted on 21st May, at a discount of .5 per cent. ' r Several of the' newspapers criticise the action of the Treasury in allowing the issue instead of itself lending the money, thus avoiding the appearance of competition, but they expect that-! the money, will be readily subscribed. >' '■
